Trainee Insulation Technician
INTRODUCTION
Smart Energy West Midlands Ltd specialise in the installation of Insulation and Heating Systems in both the ECO & private sectors. Due to continued growth we are recruiting for motivated individuals who are good at working with their hands and can use their own initiative to solve problems. This permanent position is well suited to an individual looking to learn a new trade and advance their career in a booming industry. We will be providing full on the job training with on going support from our operations department.
The right candidates will be enrolled on various NVQ qualifications to build a strong skill set within the insulation industry. This is a high growth market and has opportunities for career development. Full on the job training will be provided as well as being given time to study and learn all of the skills you need to succeed.

RESPONSIBILITIES
This role is crucial to our business as you will be delivering the end product to our customers. You will be reporting to our operations manager daily to confirm all work has been completed to the required standard. The day to day roles and responsibilities will include:
- Loading and unloading vehicles with equipment and stock
- Checking through survey paperwork to ensure you are prepared for the jobs to be completed that day
- Driving to customers properties
- Installing insulation products, this will include Loft Insulation, Cavity Wall Insulation & Underfloor Insulation. You must be comfortable working in confined spaces and working at height.
- Completing NVQ course work and assessments
- Comply with Health & Safety requirements at all times
- Take photographic evidence of the installation before during and after completion to meet scheme compliance requirements
- Report to the office throughout the day so that we can keep customers informed of when you will be arriving
- Complete daily vehicle inspections
- Daily housekeeping tasks at both customers properties & vehicles
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
- No specific qualifications are required as we will provide full training, however existing qualifications that relate to the construction industry would be advantageous
- At least 3 years experience of working in a manual/ skilled trade position is required (E.g Carpentry, plumbing, bricklaying etc). Confident using a wide range of power & hand tools safely.
- Good customer facing skills are important
- Must be competent with tablets/mobile devices
- Full driving licence with no more than 6 points

Our Head Office is based on the Waterfront in Brierley Hill, Dudley with our warehouse a 5 minute drive away. We have mainly been installing within the ECO (Government Funding) market. SALARY & LOCATION
£28,000 - £30,000 dependant upon experience and skills
Bonuses provide OTE up to £50,000 once qualified
