Trainee Fraud Investigator
£30,699 - £31,731 per annum
We are looking for a Trainee Fraud Investigator to join our award winning and dynamic fraud service and be responsible for assisting with fraud investigations, interviews, and intelligence gathering to help combat fraud against the Council.
An eye for detail, problem solving skills and being able to effectively analyse information will be key to this role. As well as your ability to effectively manage your time working on a number and range of projects will be essential to meet deadlines whilst understanding the needs, timescales and deadlines of others.
This is a great opportunity to start a career in fraud with us, holding a relevant fraud qualification and/or having previous experience in criminal investigations, managing material obtained and relevant legislation is desirable.
The Council is committed to a zero tolerance approach to fraud and the Trainee Fraud Investigator will work with Fraud Investigators and the Intelligence Officer to be proactive in identifying and investigating tenancy fraud, corporate fraud and non-benefit related frauds committed against the Council.

The London Borough of Newham is located only 5 miles east of London. It is well positioned with access to all major networks in London and the south east. It is well connected by public transport with, bus, tube and DLR. When the Crossrail service opens it will call at Custom House close to our council offices and also Stratford station and from there to central London. The London City Airport which serves major European cities is located at Royal Albert Dock. Newham has the youngest overall population in the country. It was one of the six host boroughs for the 2012 Summer Olympics and contains most of the Olympic Park including the London Stadium. It has a thriving arts quarter with the Theatre Royal Stratford East offering excellent entertainment for all the family. There is the University of East London which has two campuses in Newham, one in Stratford and another next to the regenerated Royal Albert Dock. It also has a large Westfield shopping Centre in Stratford which has all the major retailers there.
