About the role

Renovotec is the UK's fastest-growing supplier of barcode scanning and rugged mobile computer equipment, supplying technology to many industry sectors - Logistics, Automotive, Food, Ports, Construction, etc. throughout the world. Customers include Coca-Cola, Eddie Stobart, Morrison's, Jaguar Landrover, AO.com, and JD Sports amongst many others. This is an expanding and dynamic sector, which changes as new technologies are developed.

Due to a period of continued expansion, we are currently recruiting for a Trainee Financial Assistant.

This is a hands-on role in an exciting and vibrant business. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be working in a small team within our multi-site operation, and will be part of an ongoing programme to develop the business as it grows, and to ensure that its systems, controls, reporting and compliance remain robust.

You will be responsible for the recording and analysis of financial data, using the company’s standard tools and processes. You will also deal with customer and supplier queries as necessary, and assist with credit control. The role will give you the opportunity to learn in more detail how an accounts function works in a large business. You will be required to work independently and as part of a team and show initiative in all that you do. In addition you will have the opportunity to assist with ad hoc projects as necessary. At all times, you will provide accurate, responsive and reliable information for management and statutory purposes.

The role will give you a valuable insight into all aspects of the business, and you will gain experience of a wide variety of business practices and issues. You will be learning on the job as well as through specifically designed training, and will have the opportunity to add significant value across the business as it works towards its strategic goals.

The role will be office based, at our Newton-le-Willows site, but home working flexibility is available depending on tasks assigned. It may be necessary to travel occasionally to one of our other offices. Due to the location of the office, it is recommended that a personal vehicle be available.

Duties and Responsibilities

Your key responsibility will be to help with the effective use of the Sage computerised accounting package, to manage company balances and processes of accounting transactions as required, which may include:-

o Daily bank reconciliations

o Customer invoicing and receipts

o Supplier payments

o Preparation tasks for month end reporting

o Dealing with customers and supplier issues as needed

o Placing orders as necessary, including maintaining stocks of office suppliers

o Checking credit ratings and maintaining customer credit limits on Sage

Required Skills / Attributes/Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will ideally have experience in some of the following, but these are not all essential:

o Excel

o Word

o Adobe Acrobat

o Experience working in an accounts department or some knowledge of bookkeeping

o Sage Line 50

The role someone who wishes to embark on AAT training, but this is not essential.
