ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY

The Trainee Finance Analyst will deliver accurate and timely reports, budgets and forecasts across key areas of INEOS O&P UK’s management accounts to aid the Board in delivering the annual financial objectives of the company.

Key accountabilities

  • Produce high quality, relevant management reporting information and KPIs for the Supply Chain function to explain the results to the Logistics Manager to support in making correct business decisions.
  • Provide high quality business analysis to alert senior managers to potential deviations from strategic financial objectives and work with them to ensure corrective action is taken.
  • Lead the annual planning and budgeting process for the Supply Chain function to ensure the production of an accurate annual plan that has been clearly explained and analysed.
  • Translate the annual plan and budget into financial and non-financial targets to ensure that the plan can be monitored at all levels.
  • Responsibility for setup, maintenance and close out of IFRS 16 lease contracts, liaising with the Process Control and Technical Accounting team to ensure correct application of the accounting standard.
  • Review and challenge the forecast inputs provided by functional managers to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the forecast.

Special features

We are offering a development role to an individual who is keen to study towards (or is currently working towards) their CIMA or ACCA qualification.

This role will work closely with the Assistant Business Controller, providing support with ad-hoc queries to deliver timely and relevant financial and commercial analysis.

You may also experience periods of inconvenience at month-end, year-end and budget planning time to meet deadlines.

ABOUT YOU

You should:

  • Be educated to HND level in a Finance, Accountancy or Business related discipline with some experience of working in a finance function.
  • Have knowledge of accounting control procedures.
  • Be an expert in the use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
  • Be able to work productively when under pressure, meeting tight deadlines and multi-tasking.
  • Have good interpersonal, communication and people management skills.

You may:

  • Have working knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Have working knowledge of SAP and Qlikview.
