AFS Earthmoving & Aggregates LLP is offering a great opportunity within our contracting division for a motivated trainee engineer, Based at our head office in Uttoxeter and working around the midlands area. You will gain valuable experience and develop key skills that will help you to pursue a career in the construction industry.
You will work alongside Engineering Surveyors and technical experts using a wide array of the latest technology, computer software and survey equipment to work on challenging engineering projects. Learning to understand the project development process, from tender stage through to construction and handover to the client. You will also work with the site team, heavy machinery, operators, and site mangers to understand construction methods and land remediation.
Responsibilities:
- Using programs such as AutoCAD and 3D terrain modelling software, Photogrammetry processing and point cloud processing software you will assist the engineering team, assessing information in great detail including topographical surveys, cut/fill assessments and technical drawings. Producing working 3D models for construction and setting out.
- Learn engineering principles and techniques to survey, quantify and assist in upcoming and ongoing projects.
- Work with the wider contracting team to understand 3D machine control, GPS control and how your models will be physically built on site.
- Work with the estimating team assisting with quantity take offs, providing calculations and value engineering.
- Work with the team to produce detailed, accurate and professional drawings, reports, and quantities of completed works.

- Off the job training on either a day release or block basis, which may involve staying away from home.

Salary: Up to £20,000.00 per year
