The role
Wessex Water YTL Engineering Sustainable Delivery (YTL ESD) is the delivery arm of Wessex Water for the AMP7 period, managing projects as part of both capital and maintenance programmes while utilising internal and external resources.
The Sewer Rehabilitation team delivers capital schemes across the Wessex Water region, working together to deliver great solutions for our customers and the environment.
You will be an essential part of the project delivery process. You will be able to demonstrate capability in project management, programming, risk analysis and resolution, contract administration, cost benefit analysis and the ability to realise opportunities for cost saving.
Primarily you will be responsible for:
- analysis of CCTV surveys to identify the least cost solutions for sewerage renovation
- administration of the resultant Environmental Management Plan (E3MP)
- application and administration of third-party approvals, such as flood defence consents and land entry via WIA notices to mobilise renovation schemes
- planning schemes with county councils in conjunction with the Traffic Management Act and HAUC legislation to progress schemes within given time constraints
- administration of the CDM regulations to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation
- holistic management of schemes during construction, from commencement until completion, including all public relations
- monitoring and monthly financial reporting to the programme manager on totex expenditure dependent upon the client
- site supervision of contractors and works to ensure compliance with design and procurement requirements on a scheme-by-scheme basis across a multitude of trenchless technological concepts.
The role also covers special projects, including ‘state of the art’ rising main CIPP lining, tunnel analysis through petrographics, material selection, hydraulic conductivity design and bespoke specialist considerations, including pressure main surveys and investigations.
Training on required systems and processes will be provided, and there are opportunities for further education for the right candidate.
You will work at our Kingston Seymour office with the flexibility to work from home sometimes. You must be open to working from other offices on a temporary basis, such as Avonmouth or Bath, as dictated by team requirements.
What do I need?
To be successful you will be a confident communicator with a can-do attitude and a flexible and positive approach to work activities, as you will be involved in a variety of tasks. You will have good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word), as well as Adobe Acrobat. Training will be provided for other systems.
You will have passed an HND or HNC in Civil Engineering, or relevant engineering/geotechnical/science degree. There will be on-going development opportunities to develop your skillset and knowledge, which can include civil engineering HNC and CAD City and Guilds.
A knowledge of the Cured in Place Pipeline (CIPP) resin chemistry and design would be an advantage but is not necessary.
Due to the nature of this role, it is essential you hold a valid UK driving licence, as there will be regular travel around various sites within the Wessex Water region.
