Lincs Law Employment Solicitors is a growing boutique legal practice specialising in Employment Law. We take pride in the work we do with our clients and we have an enviable reputation for supporting people through their workplace issues. We are expanding and seek a Trainee Employment Solicitor to add to our increasing band of employment law specialists.

Trainee Employment Solicitor

As a Trainee Employment Solicitor with Lincs Law Employment Solicitors you will receive first class training and supervision. You will be fully involved in client matters from initial instruction all the way through internal employer procedures and Employment Tribunal litigation. We invest in our trainees and view their recruitment as the first step for our future solicitors, associates and directors.

The position is full time (37 hours per week) and will be based at our Lincoln office. The expected work pattern will be:-

- Tuesday 8.30am to 5.30pm

- Wednesday 8.30am to 5.30pm

- Thursday 8.30am to 5.30pm

- Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm

- Saturday 9.00am to 12.00 noon

There may be opportunity for working at home occasionally when specific tasks allow. However, for this position, we would not offer full or hybrid working from home as a matter of course. As this is a training role, we consider much is gained by being on site, observing and collaborating with experienced employment solicitors.

Salary is dependent upon experience but will be in the region of £21,000 to £23,000 per annum. In addition to basic salary, there are the usual benefits including paid holiday, pension, free car parking, bonus scheme, constant stream of tea and coffee, all the biscuits you can eat etc.

Minimum Qualification Criteria

You will need to:-

- Be eligible for, or be in the process of, qualifying as a solicitor through the Solicitors Qualification Examination (SQE); or

- Have completed your Legal Practice Course (LPC).

We are flexible regarding route to qualification and happy to appoint SQE or LPC trainees. Also, we have some flexibility as to the duration of the traineeship. We would be happy to consider Trainee Solicitors needing anywhere from a year to two years qualifying work experience to qualify as a solicitor.

Personal Qualities

Being in conflict with their employers means that our clients are often extremely distressed and anxious when they engage our services. Therefore, our Trainee Employment Solicitor will need to have the right personal skills to succeed in our work environment. They will need to have a passion for helping others and supporting clients at what is often an incredibly difficult time in their lives. We are looking for someone who has:-

- Empathy with clients and a genuine desire to help;

- Enthusiasm for the work we do;

- Self-motivation and “can do” attitude;

- The ability to summarise large amounts information and identify key matters;

- Proven ability to work as part of a team;

- Commercial awareness;

- Excellent research skills; and,

- Good time management and organisation skills.

We are flexible as to start dates but, ideally, we would want the successful candidate to start with us on or before 1 August 2023.
