Are you looking for a position in Wiltshire where you can train to become skilled in delivering Low Intensity CBT?

We are recruiting a trainee Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) to join our Wiltshire Mental Health Support Team (MHST). Wiltshire MHST works with schools across Wiltshire, with each EMHP given a specific area and allocated schools where they will conduct the majority of their work.

You will be allocated to a particular area within Wiltshire, which will be agreed after interview, however travel across the whole of Wiltshire will be required as part of the role.

We are looking for someone with a passion for supporting children, young people and their care givers.

On successful completion of the EMHP training course, you will be able to apply for a permanent band 5 position in the team.

Your training year will be focused on attending University and developing your intervention skills in the MHST. Teaching may be delivered online or via a hybrid model of online and face to face classes in Bristol. You will be supported to build your skills to deliver 1:1 and group interventions to children, young people and caregivers within your allocated schools. You will also support schools with their Whole School Approach to mental health and wellbeing.

You will be required to successfully complete the Mental Health Practice in Education Settings training with the University of Exeter as either a post graduate or undergraduate.

A degree is not a requirement of this role and we welcome applications without a degree. You must demonstrate through your application that you have the ability to learn at an Undergraduate Degree level.

In this role, you will train to deliver evidence-based interventions for children and young people in education settings with mild to moderate mental health problems. This will be through 1:1 interventions, parent led interventions, groups, workshops, and assemblies. You will work in collaboration with other EMHP's / CWP's to deliver groups, workshops assemblies and staff training.

You will work closely with the school mental health leads to develop a Whole School Approach to mental health and wellbeing within your allocated schools.

Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) have been set-up in response to the Government’s 2017 Green Paper,Transforming children and young people’s mental health provision. MHSTs aim to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people.

The Wiltshire MHST is made up of four teams: North, East, South and West. We currently cover 32% of the schools in Wiltshire. Every team has a team base for use in their geographical patch.

We are a supportive MHST and we provide many opportunities for ongoing training and CPD. You will receive regular case management and clinical skills supervision which also includes Whole School Approach supervision.
