Leeds and York Partnership Foundation trust in partnership with Health Education England and the University of Sheffield are delighted to invite applications for two full time Trainee Cognitive Behavioural therapist posts on theCBT -Eating disorders training programme.Applications are encouraged from people with an interest and experience in working with people with Eating Disorders. These posts will provide formal psychological interventions using newly developed skills whilst undertaking a two-year Postgraduate Training programme which will enable accreditation with the BABCP. This is a training role and any offer will be made on a fixed term training contract basis for a period of 2 years. The appointment may lead to a permanent Psychological Therapist post at the end of this period, subject to successful completion of the postgraduate diploma programme. You will be supported by experienced colleagues and offered a range of opportunities to develop core CBT competencies within the workplace in conjunction with the academic support offered by the course team. You will benefit from clinical supervision on the course and in the workplace, with opportunities for peer support. You will have time for study and assignments built into your job plan. In the first year of the course, you will develop your skills with a broad range of clients before specialising in working with Eating disorders in the second year. You will be encouraged to develop areas of interest that are relevant to the clinical work and contribute to service initiatives and development. This intensive training post will equip the post–holder to provide a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) service to clients with a range of complex problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective. Postholders will be required to attend to the training course requirements with appropriate time out of service to attend lectures, seminars and supervision and also to complete coursework. The postholder will undertake all of the below duties under the supervision of a clinical supervisor: Develop psychological formulations for individual patients that contribute towards the overall assessment of their care needs. Collaboratively establish individual patient’s goals towards recovery. Determine suitability of specific psychological interventions, including group and individual modalities, based on the patient’s assessment/formulation Plan, deliver and review individual and group psychological interventions for specific patients. Identify gaps within and potential developments of the psychological therapy programme, reporting these to supervisory staff The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities . The posts are within the Primary Care Therapies team which sits between NHS Talking Therapies for Anxiety and Depression (formerly IAPT) and psychological therapies currently provided by community mental health teams. These posts will be part of a new multi-disciplinary pathway for people who present to their GP with issues relating to eating but who cannot currently access specialist eating disorder services. This pathway will be an important element of the new Integrated Mental Health Hubs which are being developed across Leeds as part of a major programme of Community Mental Health Service transformation. To be eligible to apply for this post, any previousHealth Education England psychological professionstraining must have been completed more than two years prior to the start date of this training course. This is an exciting time to be joining this service as we progress with significant service expansion in psychological therapies and a co-produced clinical model of care, in line with the NHS long-term plan. We will require assurance that candidates have completed enough of their portfolio at the outset of the training/job to ensure that when submitted at the end of the course it will pass the accreditation process. Successful candidates will work in the primary care therapies team, providing formal psychological interventions using newly developed skills whilst undertaking a two-year Postgraduate Training programme in CBT-ED which will enable accreditation with the BABCP
