Caledonian Optical are currently recruiting for a Trainee Coating Technician at our exciting new multi-million pound facility in Dyce , Aberdeen.

The position is full time, working 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days.

Previous experience is not required as full training will be provided.

The Core Responsibilities of the role are:

• Accurately read and understand the lens and frame specifications noted on the prescriptions received.
• Learn all aspects of the Coating process.
• Undertake regular checks of all laboratory equipment to ensure it is in good working order; make minor repairs as necessary under the guidance and supervision of the Line Manager.
• Follow all Lab Quality procedural instructions and follow them as instructed and assisting in ongoing improvement by raising awareness of potential procedure improvements.
• Seek to resolve technical problems as they arise, referring to the line Manager as necessary.
• Maintain a high standard of work according to the QA system and British Standards
• Follow all Company Health and Safety procedures
• Maintain good working relationships with all other staff, both within the laboratory and in the wider organisation.
• Maintain a tidy workspace and assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the laboratory as a whole.
• Any other duties as required to assist in the smooth running of the laboratory.
• Help in development of all Trainee Technicians when required.
