Boeing Defence UK is looking for a site specialised System IT Administrator based in Wattisham to support the onsite IT requirements, specifically delivering training services. This role will involve contributing to the delivery of projects and sustainment of a training environment and operational requirements of a large site.
Local to site, you will be involved in system integration activities, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of workstations and networking to ensure the user experience is exceptional. Providing the local IT consultancy by engaging with the local community, ensuring advice and resolution is based on best practice and in line with the wider Boeing strategy. The successful candidate will be the primary point of contact ensuring the training environment and classrooms are available when classes are scheduled and the training experience is reliable.
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for delivering products and projects and providing technical support to a wide range of users and capabilities at all levels. Equally comfortable, confident and professional whether on the end of a phone or ‘hands-on’ at a desk, you will be the sort of individual that takes pride in providing a first-rate service and genuinely enjoys solving IT issues for colleagues at all levels.
Whilst you will be the sole IT representative onsite, you will be part of a larger delivery team where support and consultancy is available to ensure you have the tools and resources to deliver an excellent service.
Position responsibilities
- Continuously looking for improvements to ensure services operated are aligned to industry best practice and Boeing enterprise best practices.
- Responding to events, requests and incidents logged in management systems.
- Performing analysis of log files, systems, and network traffic.
- Working to well-defined SLAs & KPIs
- Support of functional teams such as networking
- Working closely with Architecture to help define strategy and roadmaps for the training environment
- Working with the site team to establish and support their operational requirements
- Identify and raise technical challenges and limitations within the networking estate
- Provide consultancy to colleagues within the organisation
- Represent IT Global when the need arises
- Primary point of contact for all site IT issues
Desirable qualifications and competencies
- Networking experience
- Windows installation and configuration
- System log management and network/server monitoring.
- Windows server technology
- Server/desktop builds
- Ability to communicate with and support teammates, customers, and suppliers in a professional manner
- Experience of troubleshooting, knowledge of network technologies, server computing systems including operating systems, networks, hardware, software packages and utilities, computer control languages and command is preferred

This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
Work Authorization:
This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorization to work immediately in the United Kingdom. Security Clearance: The successful candidate will be expected to undergo a UK Security Clearance Process, which will require 5 years uninterrupted residency in the UK prior to applying.
