Job description
Due to the continued success and expansion of Avonline Networks we have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Civils Operative to join our team, reporting to a civils supervisor, performing excavations, repairs and re-reinstatements, installation of ducting, chambers, and street cabinets within the public highway. This position requires a high degree of self-motivation, organisation skills.

Providing installation and maintenance of infrastructure to MDU's across the UK for public sector, social housing, and private landlords, which include the latest technology, FTTP and IRS.
The role & responsibilities:
Working closely with all stakeholders to deliver projects that meet their requirements.
You will:
- Assist the Engineer in their duly activities and responsibilities
- Assist in ensuring that all works are carried out in a planned, controlled, and safe manner, in accordance with statutory regulations, current standards, and the Company SHEQ standards.
- Assist recording of Near Misses on the Near Miss Cards, completed cards to be provided to the Safety Manager.
- Taking pride in all work completed and being determined to succeed!
- Provide new installation of duct / micro duct, chambers and cabinets and associated customer connection pots and responsible for own reinstatement.
- Clear blockages in the highway and reinstate to industry standard.
- Be responsible for the company assets and plant assigned to you for the purpose of performing your duties.
- Overtime + Emergency response required on rota with other team members required.

- Positive and willing to learn.

- Good awareness of Health & Safety and company policies. (desirable)
- Full UK driving Licence
Preferred Qualifications
Qualifications would be an advantage, but not essential as full training will be given.
- NRSWA Street works Operative.
- Unit 1 – Location of Underground Apparatus
- Unit 2 – Signing, Lighting & Guarding
- Unit 3 – Excavation in the Highways
- Units 4 to Unit 9
- Trailer license
- CPCS cards
