Trainee Cad Cam Programmer
Temp to Perm – Immediate start
£10 per hour
Based – Leighton Buzzard
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Trainee Cad Cam Programmer to work with one of our clients based in Leighton Buzzard.
The role is to create CNC programs and establish manufacture methods for foam parts to customer order, using drawings and specifications supplied.
Hours of work: You would be required to work 3 shifts
· Early - 6.00a.m. – 2p.m. Monday to Friday
· Day - 8.30a.m. – 5.15p.m. Monday to Thursday, 8.30a.m. – 1p.m. Friday
· Late - 1.30p.m. – 10p.m. Monday to Thursday, 1.30p.m. – 7.30p.m. Friday
Reporting to: Technical Manager
Duties Include
- Creating high quality CNC programs for a large variety of foam conversion machines using Alphacam
- Creating CAD drawings clearly detailing machine settings and methods of manufacture throughout the conversion process
- Ability to manipulate and interrogate customer CAD files
- Where required, drawing customer supplied parts in either 2D or 3D in Alphacam and Inventor
- Logging departmental KPI information
- Working to tight deadlines
- Creating artwork for our patented printing process in Corel draw
- Checking and reprogramming/re-exporting legacy programs
- Communicating with customers via email, phone or via on site visits
- To undertake any other duties, from time to time, as can be reasonably requested by the company.
Skills
· Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with engineering drawings
· Demonstrated experience with some form of CAD/CAM package
· Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
· Demonstrate an ability to work independently on a variety of tasks
· Basic knowledge of how CNC machines operate
· Pragmatic considerations towards machining
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· A pragmatic approach to problem solving
· Excellent spatial awareness
· A positive attitude towards the needs of colleagues and clients
· Experience working within a fast paced environment
· Strong IT skills, especially when using MS Office
