Role Overview:
The Credit desk is seeking a Trainee Broker to join their London team. This is an entry level role into the Global Markets world of Broking and will provide the successful applicant with on-the-job training and exposure to the financial markets we operate within. We are ideally looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual that can work autonomously and collaboratively in a small team and can think on their feet.
Ideally, we are keen to speak to those who have A-levels (minimum) in Mathematics and / or Statistics given the nature of the role and use of numbers on the job. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of highly experienced team and would be perfect for somebody looking to start their career in Financial Services.
Role Responsibilities:
- Promote TP ICAP.
- Provide complete support to the brokers for the smooth running of the desk.
- Ensure timely input of trades into trading systems and via Bloomberg
- Resolve any trade queries received internally and externally and ensure any trade discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.
- Identify trade opportunities.
- Keep trade records up to date.
- Provide input on various projects for brokers and traders.
- Provide trade details to brokers and traders on a daily basis
- Monitor markets and follow financial news and developments.
- On-board new clients following the correct process with the Client On-Boarding team.
Experience / Competences:
- An interest in the financial markets and the economy.
- CISI Unit 1: UK Financial Rules and Regulation qualification would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Bloomberg preferable
- High level of computer competence.
- Hard working and willingness to learn.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Handles situations and problems effectively using own initiate.
- Build relationships and networks with both internally and externally wherever possible.
- Demonstrates ability to work effectively with others.
- Seeks opportunities for improvements.
- Demonstrates high levels of energy in seeking out and achieving new goals.
- Is a self-starter.
