COMPANY OVERVIEW:
QCMD is an independent International External Quality Assessment (EQA) / Proficiency Testing (PT) organisation. QCMD provides a wide-ranging quality assessment service primarily focused on molecular infectious diseases to over 2000 participants in over 100 countries. QCMD is dedicated to advancing the quality of molecular diagnostics through External Quality Assessment (EQA), Proficiency Testing (PT) and other supporting quality initiatives.
JOB SUMMARY:
Provide 1st level support for assigned Information and Communications Technology (ICT) systems. The role requires installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults, and solving technical and applications problems, either over the phone or in person. The IT technical support monitors and maintains computer systems and ensures that system hardware, operating and software systems and related procedures adhere to corporate structures.
The role aligns with local users, project teams and site management to ensure that local and global IT systems available on site work properly and projects are implemented efficiently, in alignment with local and global policies and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications
- Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
- Replace parts as required
- Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
- Set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
- Respond within an agreed time limits to trouble tickets or callouts
- Work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
- Prioritise and manage many open cases at one time
EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate of a HNC or foundation degree in computer science, information technology, computer networking and hardware, software development
- Previous working experience in IT support is a plus
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Client OS Windows 10
- Knowledge of network systems, LAN and WAN topologies
- Knowledge of MS Windows Server OS, Virtualization , Active Directory

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
