Biomedical Scientist / Trainee Biomedical Scientist– Cellular Pathology A vacancy has arisen for a Trainee Biomedical Scientist in the Department of Cellular Pathology at the West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. We are a small but busy department based in Bury St Edmunds, processing around 25,000 requests per year. Cellular Pathology is UKAS accredited laboratory, situated within the Pathology department and plays a vital role in the Trust’s cancer diagnostics service. We offer a clinically led service with quality as its prime focus. We are a progressive laboratory, currently working towards digitalisation. Development of our staff is one of our key focuses and we are proud to offers excellent training in all aspects of cellular pathology technique including specimen dissection. The successful applicant will participate in the routine daily laboratory tasks including embedding, microtomy, staining and quality control, as well as contributing to the Quality Management Systems. Thesuccessful applicant will have good IT skills, and will exhibit a commitment to the development of themselves and the discipline.Applicants should have completed or be nearing the completion of an IBMS accredited Biomedical Science degree. It is crucial that the successful candidate has; Good verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrable interpersonal skills - can work as part of a team.
