This 18-month fixed-term laboratory-based role has the potential to be extended by a further 18 months upon completion of State registration and progression to training for Specialist Portfolio.
The Histology department is looking for a proficient, enthusiastic, self-motivated Biomedical Science graduate to join the Synnovis Histology team at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, have an excellent attention to detail, be a good team player and keen to develop their scientific knowledge and skills through presentations and CPD activities.
Main duties are commensurate with those of a Trainee Biomedical Scientist within Histopathology.
The candidate will be expected to complete any top up modules as required whilst working towards the IBMS Certificate of competence for registration with the Health & Care Professions Council.
The department is situated in a major teaching hospital, and cancer referral centre. Processing over 32, 000 surgical cases per year, the Histology department is currently in a dynamic state of growth with more clinics set to be established resulting in more surgical samples.
