EY is looking for a Senior Consultant to join our Sustainable Finance team within the Financial Services Risk Management (FSRM) practice, to help the banking and capital markets industry respond to the fast-developing and growing climate risk and sustainable finance agenda – including managing the risks and opportunities from an accelerating transition, responding to new regulation, adapting products and services, and improving transparency and disclosures. The Opportunity

Our FSRM team brings together a broad range of skillsets including risk practitioners, regulatory specialists and modellers, and works closely with other EY teams such as our Climate Change and Sustainability Services teams that supports non-financial services sectors, as well as our FS Assurance, Strategy and our Technology consulting teams, to deliver innovative, end-to-end solutions.

Your key responsibilities

As part of our team you will have the opportunity to work with many of the world’s leading banks, and to leverage the deep knowledge and wide-ranging skills and experience of your EY colleagues.


As a senior consultant in the team you can expect to be involved in the following activities:

  • Participate in climate risk and sustainable finance engagements
  • Work effectively as a team member sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication, and updating senior team members on progress
  • Assist in preparing reports and schedules that will be delivered to clients and other parties
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with clients while building strong internal relationships within the consulting practice and across other services
  • Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for staff
  • Maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills

  • Confident and credible communicator who displays both technical knowledge and commercial understanding
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills
  • Project management and excellent report writing skills
  • Experience in stakeholder and client management
  • Ability to drive business development and contribute to the growth of the EY market solutions


To qualify for the role you must have

  • We are looking for both quantitative and non-quantitative profiles, and a balance of skills and experience from across risk management and/or modelling, and climate change.
  • Experience in climate risk and knowledge of financial services, either as part of an institution; in an advisory or business consulting capacity to such organisations or in the regulation of such institutions
  • Non-financial industry knowledge of climate risk regulation is an advantage
  • Knowledge of financial and/or non-financial risk management and modelling is an advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong academic background
  • A quantitative background is an advantage
