We are looking to recruit a Trainee Assistant Site Manager to join our Production team based in the West Midlands reporting to the Site Manager.
As a Trainee Assistant Site Manager, you will shadow other roles to gain awareness of all site-based activities, as well as gaining an understanding of the whole housebuilding process. You will play a key role in quality control, health and safety, resource management and commercial controls. As part of the role, you will also be involved with the various aspects of the customers journey throughout the life-cycle of the development. You will be a team player who possesses a keen work ethic, excellent communication skills, desire and drive to succeed and empathy and sympathy in equal measures when dealing with our customers.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
- Ensure everyone on site is complying with the company health and safety standards and processes, NHBC standards, building regulations, and overall quality and presentation standards.
- Ensure that the overall presentation and housekeeping of the site is maintained to the ‘Miller Standard’ and Miller Production Procedures.
- Liaising with other internal departments, externals suppliers and partners to ensure the KPI’s are being achieved.
- Ensure the required resources are being effectively and efficiently managed on site (labour & materials).
- Ensure that any customer complaints during the production cycle are promptly and properly investigated and the appropriate action is taken.
- People Management, gain understanding of management, recruitment, and performance management of site staff.
- Attend and participate fully in meetings as may be called by or with the support of the Site Manager and in particular pre-start meetings and quarterly/monthly Site Manager.
- Liaise with the Development Sales Manager, Buying Department, customer and sub-contractors regarding the supply and installation of customer choices.
- Assist the Site Management Team and Customer Service Manager to resolve any concerns or issues identified by the customer.
- Assist the Site Management Team in the management of the quality of work carried out by the sub-contractors and materials supplied by the manufacturers.
The successful candidate will come from a trade background and site experience gained in the house building industry. Candidates will hold a current CSCS card and ideally will have a Trade (City & Guilds) or academic qualification in Construction Management.
