Job description
The Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Trainee Animal Technician. The successful candidate will provide technical support within a laboratory/workshop environment for teaching and research purposes.
The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you have:
- Secondary School education (or equivalent);
- On the job training and/or work experience (up to 1 year); and
- There will be an expectation for the post-holder to obtain a Department of Health personal licence (PILA+PILB).

This is a fixed term post for 1 year. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
