Satys Air Livery (UK) Ltd are an established aircraft refinishing company, with operations in Norwich, Southend, Cambridge and Bratislava. Due to the business being owned by Satys Aerospace, a global leader in Aircraft Sealing & Painting, there is opportunity at times to support operations across all our global sites (including, France, Netherlands, Morocco, Singapore).
At our Norwich Airport facility, we require candidates to join our Trainee Aircraft Painting Programme, joining the organisation as a Trainee Aircraft Preparation Assistant, the first step in our comprehensive training programme to reach a fully qualified aircraft painter.
We are looking for those who are keen to learn, have a passion for the aviation industry, spray painting. The ideal candidates would have some previous paint experience, although this is not essential for the trainee programme. Duties will include all aspects of preparation work i.e. sanding, stripping, washing, cleaning etc. of full aircraft.
There are two stages within the recruitment process, first stage screening interview, successful candidates will then complete a two day work trial in order for both parties to consider whether the position is suitable without any prior commitment. Successful and willing candidates will then begin training towards the role of Trainee Aircraft Preparations Assistant. This initial training will last approximately 4-6 weeks, which will encompass both practical and theoretical training. Following the initial training, you will be paired with a dedicated ‘buddy’ who will support and guide you throughout the first 6 months of your employment to assist you with increasing your skillset, and encouraging you to develop.
You will need to be flexible in working hours to meet the aircraft production schedule, including weekends and bank holidays. The normal shift pattern is generally 7am-4pm, 6 days per week. During training the rate is £10.50 per hour, following successful completion of the 4-6 weeks training, this will increase to £11.50 per hour.
Employment is generally offered on a permanent basis, with an annualised hours contract starting at 1,800 hours per annum (£20,700 for £11.50). Overtime is also available at particularly busy periods. Specific contract details will be shared throughout the recruitment process.
An additional 20% on the basis hourly rate is applicable for any hours worked on a Saturday, Sunday, and bank holiday (£13.80 for a Trainee Aircraft Preparation Assistant). Where you complete the late shift, this premium also applies.
