We are looking for passionate and skilled clinicians to add to our multi-disciplinary team as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP). The ideal candidate will already be credentialed with the Royal College of Emergency Medicine as an ACP. The NNUH ED is led by a motivated team who are forward thinking in their approach to emergency medicine. Our ED is the busiest in the region, where no two days are the same. Our dynamic clinical and support teams are passionate about delivering high quality care to our patients, and we do this despite the challenges that are thrown our way. You will be joining at a time of exciting development, improvement, and change, and we look forward to you being part of this journey with us.
This role is open to those wishing to work in the Adult or Paediatric ED.
Trainee Applicants welcome who will start at Band 7 dependant on their prior experience. You will then work under the ENP or Trainee JD before progressing to the ACP at Band 8a.

You will be part of an established team of trainee and credentialed RCEM ACPs who are working across all areas of the department, minors, majors, paediatrics, ambulatory, and resus. As an ACP service we have a proven track record of success and are proud of the seven trainees that have already completed their RCEM training, across Adults and Paediatrics. You will provide high-quality, patient focused, efficient and comprehensive assessment and treatment to a range of patients arriving through our front doors. Alongside this you will receive professional support, training and supervision from peers, nursing colleagues, ACPS and Doctors.
Training for this role is wide and varied. It will include work-based assessment, simulation, formal and informal teaching, portfolio development, Life Support courses and a taught university course, including non-medical prescribing, at master’s level. We are committed to developing and nurturing your skills, and welcome applicants who may need a period of additional training prior to starting the tACP pathway. The need for a period of time as a trainee Emergency Nurse Practitioner can be discussed at interview.
Training will be supported by the consultant body and the service is Consultant led with professional leadership from the ACP lead. The Trust and department have strong links with local HEI and we encourage our team to be involved in the education of the next generation of ACPs and Nurses
