The Role
We’re looking for an experienced, self-motivated and engaging individual to join our new Town Build Team. Reporting into the Delivery Manager you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and removing temporary traffic management on low-speed roads; this could be in the form of road closures, temporary traffic lights or stop & go. You will be expected to take the lead driving best practice of Traffic Management operations for a fast-growing new department here at Wessex Internet.
Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
Responsibilities
- Set up and close down temporary lights including 2way, 3way, 4way and UTC Multiphase System
- Stop and Go services
- Traffic Marshall responsibilities
- Support/lead lane closures for dual carriageways
- Complete relevant weekly paperwork including timesheets, vehicle checks etc
- Shift work and working outside in all weathers may be required
- Liaison with external Traffic Management companies
- Carry out prebuild traffic management surveys to assist with work planning
- Carrying out maintenance inspections of site set ups throughout the day to monitor ongoing works
- Championing Quality and Health and Safety, promoting and managing excellence in all SHEQ practices
- Assist the Delivery Manager with street works planning for Project Delivery
- Identifying and delivering opportunities for cost saving synergies across the delivery team
- Providing information to the Project Manager for them to be able to monitor, report and escalate issues within projects
- Build and maintain relationships with the local council and work with the Project Manager and Delivery Manager on the overall council engagement
Requirements
- LANTRA M1/M2 and M5 certified
- NRSWA accreditation beneficial
- Well-developed organisational and planning skills including schedule, scope and resource management
- Flexible, Proactive and Punctual individual
- Good local knowledge and existing relationships advantageous
- A good track record of working within a similar role
- Ability to understand and implement agreed plans
- The ability to work collaboratively with Stakeholders both internal and external
- Ability to follow within a process driven environment

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience
Role Type: Full Time/Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday (some night and weekend work may be required)
Location: Site Based (Dorset and immediate surrounding Counties)
Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays
Required licence or certification: Driving Licence
