Job description
Responsibilities:
- We require the individual to lead technical client projects and support internal business development around risk and regulatory issues within trading and wholesale businesses
- Support the delivery of wholesale conduct topics including Market Abuse, Front Office Supervision, Electronic Trading, Risk and Control Assessments
- Keep abreast of latest trends and any new regulatory requirements / market developments.
- Be able to advise clients on current industry practices and advancements relating to wholesale conduct topics
- Working as an SME and being able to manage and upskill junior team members
The Person
Qualifications & Skills:
- Good understanding of trading businesses, including the understanding of financial products (cash and derivatives) covering how these are traded and risk managed.
- Strong familiarity with role of key bank functions including Front office, Market Risk, Product control, Treasury and Compliance.
- A practical understanding of the ‘three lines of defence’ model.
- Flexibility and agility to contribute in a senior capacity to a broad range of banking engagements.
- Excellent oral / written communication, planning, project management, networking and influencing skills.
- Self starter, experienced and motivated Manager who has a track record of building excellent client relationships
Experience & Knowledge:
- >8yrs of experience of financial products and front-to-back controls either through working in a Front Office, Compliance Advisory or a Consulting environment.
- Experience of regulation impacting banks trading functions - Mifid II, EU BMR, SMCR, MAR
- Strong project management skills, evidenced by a demonstrable record of technical change management in a trading environment.
