Job description - Trading Assistant
In this Trading Assistant job in London, you will be a key part of a relatively small team, so will be able to learn from experienced professionals and industry experts and have the chance to progress quickly. The job itself will be incredibly varied, and will give you invaluable exposure to all aspects of running a hedge fund; including trading, portfolio, risk management and product development.
To be successful in this role you will need to be both organised and highly ambitious, as you will be working closely with senior management on a whole array of projects, and undertaking various ad hoc duties to ensure the smooth running of the firm.
Key responsibilities - Trading Assistant
In this Trading Assistant job, your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring the firm’s existing positions across funds, including credit and scenario analysis
- Carrying out quantitative assessment of proposed new transactions, and working closely with the investment team
- Collating and processing information for investor reports and newsletters
- Preparing material for investors - including presentations for prospective investors and write-ups for existing ones
- Working closely with senior management on a number of different projects
- Undertaking ad hoc duties as and when required
- A minimum of a 2.1 from a top university, in a STEM or numerical degree
- Highly numerical skills and confidence working in Excel
- A great eye for detail, and the ability to keep many plates spinning at once
- The confidence to work both autonomously and as part of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
