Seasonal Shop Assistant
We are seeking a number of Seasonal Shop and Stores Assistants to join our team over the busy summer months until early September. This would be an ideal role for returning university students.
Successful candidates will work with our shop team keeping the shop replenished, assisting customers and processing sales on the tills. They will also assist in the checking in of arriving stock in our stores. This is a physically demanding job so candidates will have to be fit enough to work at the required pace and have excellent reading and spoken English skills to ensure the correct stock is picked or checked in.
Normal hours are 9am to 5pm over 5 days between Monday and Saturday. The hourly rate of pay for this position is £11.30 inclusive of holiday pay.

Summary
To ensure the shop floor is replenished with fresh stock from the stores each day and to assist customers in their purchasing requirements in all areas of the Centre. To process customer purchases through the tills. To assist the Goods In team with checking off and putting away arriving stock. To work with the rest of the Team in making sure the shop is always clean and presented to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service – To offer all customers entering the centre assistance with finding the correct items for their requirements. To process items through the tills, interacting with customers in a helpful and friendly manner. Recording and following up on customer enquiries or orders using our contact management systems.
- Presentation – To participate in creating new visual displays, moving stock and fixtures around to highlight seasonal products and offers. To ensure all items are correctly and clearly priced. Ensure the department is clean, tidy, and beautifully presented at all times.
- Stock Management – To check off incoming deliveries to ensure the correct stock has been received and to replenish the shop floor stock from the warehouse ensuring the department is always fully stocked. To carry out regular stock counts to maintain stock accuracy.
Skills and knowledge Required
- Sufficiently physically fit to be able to cope with moving stock and standing all day.
- Confident about approaching and talking to customers.
- Ideally would have some retail experience but this is not essential.
- Highly focused on providing Great Customer Service
- Numerate & accurate
- Computer Literate (basic)
