**Job Description:**
We are seeking an engaging Retail Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent cash handling skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment. This role involves stocking and cleaning duties, as well as substantial customer interaction. If you enjoy working with the public and have a keen interest in retail, we would be delighted to hear from you.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Operate the Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) till system, handle cash transactions accurately, and provide correct change to customers.
2. Ensure that toys and other merchandise are properly stocked on the shelves.
3. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the shop to create a safe and welcoming environment for customers.
4. Accept, sort, and process postal items, adhering to the standards of our postal services.
5. Deliver exceptional customer service, answering enquiries about our products and postal services.
6. Assist with inventory control, identifying low stock and reporting discrepancies.
7. Comply with all shop policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
**Key Skills and Qualifications:**
1. Previous experience in retail, cash handling or customer service roles is preferred.
2. Proficient cash handling skills, with the ability to process transactions accurately.
3. Ability to carry out physical tasks, including lifting, stocking, and cleaning.
4. Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
5. Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
6. Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
7. Familiarity with toys and games would be advantageous.
8. Comfortable working with EPOS till systems.
