Job Summary:

Job Summary

Day-to-day management of the travel industry marketing & events (TEMs) team to achieve the attendance, room nights and revenue goals for Disneyland Paris (DLP), Walt Disney World (WDW) and Disney Cruise Line (DCL). The manager is expected to act as a strong leader for their team.

Responsible for ensuring the TEM team are focused on the travel trade environment, supporting our key partners with all their B2C and B2B marketing needs. Partnering with the Trade Engagement and Events team (TEE) and leading on all creative needs to deliver best in class Disney events & trade engagement. Responsible for ensuring the TEM team delivers flawless execution to internal stakeholders and external partners, adopting a cohesive approach to promoting the brand portfolio and individual brand servicing focus: DLP 35%; WDW 35%; DCL 30%

This role will require you to be onsite 4 days a week.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Manage the performance and development of the TEM team, including implementing an ongoing program of mentoring and skills development, setting and monitoring objectives and regular appraisals.

  • Responsible for ensuring the TEM team remains focused on servicing the top producing partners across all three portfolio brands (DLP, WDW and DCL) with a continued focus on key partner websites. Conduct regular offer audits and timely full content audits as necessary.

  • Lead & inspire the TEM team to develop new and innovative B2C & B2B marketing campaigns working with the central Trade Marketing teams in EMEA and North America as applicable.

  • Partner with the Account Management team to produce robust DDI TEM campaign plans for future financial year at the start of AOP planning process. Identify key DDI trade learnings and insights throughout the financial year to input into quarterly reviews and future Annual Operating Plans.

  • Take the lead in assessing the travel industry landscape and having an ongoing competitive overview through meetings, conferences and research to make informed decisions on innovative ideas that could influence the DDI approach to trade marketing.

  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Manager | Trade Engagement, Events & Marketing to plan the campaign mechanics (i.e: offers, T&C, key visuals) in a synchronised and timely manner across all three brands and ensure effective integration within all trade marketing initiatives with flawless execution. This includes providing creative ideas for best-in-class B2B and B2C marketing as well as trade events

  • Partner closely with the Trade Engagement and Events Manager acting as a brand & creative expert advising on all B2B, training and event collateral needs.

  • In conjunction with the sales teams, develop strategic relationships with the key stakeholders of key partners across DDI, with specific focus on nurturing and developing strategic marketing relationships

  • Responsible for the initial development of trade media plan and associated media buying across key campaigns for all brands

  • Act as primary stakeholder in storage and distribution warehouse relationship (Delta)

  • Responsible for the UK trade marketing sign-off and trade launch of any DDI brochure as and when relevant

  • Oversee continued implementation & branding of key portfolio trade tools, B2B travel agency web site and portals, including but not limited to: Magic Ahoy!,Magikit, Disney Stars, BDE program, Sales Blitz and National Sales Weekends.

  • Partner with the Senior Manager on the delivery of project Magic Key, our 1 stop shop for travel agents and trade partners.

  • Manage the TEM team workload and deliverables on a weekly basis using Microsoft TEAMs ‘Planner’ app

  • Track, monitor and manage the trade marketing & events budget

  • Look for synergies between the UK Trade Marketing and Events team to support Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Line expansion into OEMEA markets. Through innovation and effective use of resource. Collaborate with the OEMEA team to support efficient ways of working.

  • Contribute to maintaining and enhancing the standard of training and development being given and encouraging participation so that everyone has the tools and resources to do their role effectively and efficiently

  • Accountable for delivering against annually agreed performance commitments.

  • Accountable for monitoring and managing the trade marketing budget elements for DDI.

  • Accountable for cultivating and maintaining productive relationships and collaborating across departments internally and externally


Experience and Professional Qualifications Required

  • Proven and long track record of managing people and teams. Excellent people management is a core expectation of this role.

  • Marketing experience in a major multi-national marketing environment, ideally both B2C and B2B

  • Demonstrated strategic and tactical skills related to implementation of marketing plans and recommending resources necessary for success

  • Exceptional organisational, project management and communication skills to balance trade marketing programs across three brands for optimal execution and success

  • Experience of working within a large corporate environment, understanding the dynamics and challenges of a matrix organisation

  • Proven experience in the development of expertise across trade marketing disciplines setting best practice standards for industry and organization

  • Proven leadership and ability to influence throughout all levels of a matrix organisation while developing a ‘best-in-class’ TIM team with expertise across many discipline areas

  • Proven experience of effectively monitoring and managing allocated budgets
