TRADE COUNTER ASSISTANT –
PIRTEK WOLVERHAMPTON
We have a vacancy for a Trade Counter assistant at our Wolverhampton Centre. As the Trade Counter Assistant, you will be expected to deliver a high level of customer service in operational and sales activities, ensuring customers receive a fast and efficient response to sales enquiries, building customer loyalty and enhancing the company’s reputation for service.
Key Functions & Responsibilities
- Provide a friendly and helpful response to customer enquiries to their total satisfaction in order to contribute to improving service levels to be the best in the industry
- Answering the phone and helping the Centre Manager to control and direct the mobile engineers and vans.
- Always be well presented and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment as required
- Assemble hydraulic hoses to customer requirements.
- Assist with stock control, ordering and product sourcing.
- Actively promote Pirtek products and services to Trade Counter customers
- Proactively sell to both existing and new customers in order to meet and exceed sales and margin targets, and to continually work to build and develop the customer base at the branch.
- Accurate and regular order entry to help achieve minimum time delay between receipt of order and dispatch of goods, therefore maximising sales / stock turnover.
- When required to, use a company vehicle to deliver products.
- To provide assistance to Mobile Technicians within the workshop and on-site when required.
- General housekeeping of the centre.
Skills and Competencies
- Effective communication skills both verbally and written.
- Computer Literate with a good knowledge of MS Office products.
- It would be preferential, but not essential, to have business to business or trade counter experience.
- The ability to present yourself in a professional and courteous manner to customers and staff
- A base knowledge in mechanical systems.
- Good manual dexterity and physical ability- for hose assembly and stock control

This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to start a career in hydraulic engineering and ultimately become an on-site mobile service technician. Full training will be given at our City & Guilds accredited training centre in Birmingham.
This position is full time and permanent and will pay £17K to 22K per annum (depending on age and experience).
