Grade: West End Q3
Salary: From £56,294
Location: West End: White City Sidings
Working Hours:Sun - Thurs 23:00 - 06:30 - WEST END
Due to the nature of the work you MAY be required to work weekends/days/nights.

Do you currently hold a Protection Master (PWT- EH) certificate and Track Maintenance Safety Critical Licenses T001 and T002 & PM4? If so, we would like to hear from you.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Track Inspector to work for the Central Line, working West End (Woodlane Q3). You will undertake track inspections to identify track sub-standard conditions, raise job orders for the necessary remedial works and complete TANC assessments if required. Also, you will inspect completed works to ensure that the track is maintained in accordance with Standards.
Accountabilities
- Populating the track maintenance and inspection programme, to ensure that track assets meet company and Business Unit Safety and Quality standards required for the operation of the scheduled train service.
- Inspect the track to promote the safety of customers, staff and contractors, ensuring that all aspects of the Company’s Safety Policy and processes are complied with together with relevant Health and Safety legislation.
- Monitor the maintenance work bank to ensure the work is undertaken to programme and to established quality and safety standards.
- Prepare Inspection programmes based upon the job holders own awareness of track conditions and intelligence gathered widely from operations and adherence to engineering standards.
- Develop and maintain high standards of staff performance and productivity through effective communication and people management.
- Monitor performance of internal and external contractors undertaking track work and other line side maintenance work ensuring that such work complies with safety and quality standards. When required the job holder will agree method statements before work commences and will accept the quality of work on completion.
- When required the jobholder will carry out technical investigation into public complaints relating to Track Condition or Noise & Vibration.
- When required jobholder will carry out assessment on staff for SCL purposes (Protection Master and T001/2).
- Respond to emergencies working such hours and times as necessary to ensure safe operation of the railway.

Skills
- You will have effective communication skills - the ability to communicate effectively with managers and other members of staff to ensure an understanding of rules and management instructions – Essential
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously or as part of a team – Essential
- Demonstrable analytical and problem solving skills – Desirable
Knowledge
- Knowledge of Company safety standards, rules and regulations and those specifically applicable to own Discipline (Track) – Essential
- Deep knowledge of Track operational practices – Essential
- Deep understanding of track components and related faults – Essential
- You will hold current protection master certification / PWT-EH – Essential
- You will hold current T001/T002 licenses – Essential
- TANC approved person. (Standard SQE-S-012 refers) – Desirable
- A1/D32 qualified – Desirable
- Completion of PM3, PM4, S1176 and other track inspection courses, or successfully undertake training – Essential
- Knowledge of Ellipse/EWP system – Desirable
- Hold current clean driving license – Essential
Experience
- You will have experience of working in a track maintenance environment – Essential
- Experience of reporting via hand-held device – Desirable
Additional Information
As with all operational roles some cross over shifts and weekends will be required, in line with business needs.
This is a Safety Critical role - Occupational Health Clearance will be required.
