Bude-Stratton Town Council is seeking to recruit a Town Clerk due to the retirement of the current post holder.

On the beautiful North Cornish Coast, with a population of around 10,600, Bude-Stratton is thriving place with a very strong independent community spirit.

With a precept of £992K for 2023/24 and an annual budget of just over £1.5m the Town Council is a busy organisation providing a range of public services: Parkhouse Community Centre; Castle Heritage Centre; Library, Public Toilets and a number of public open spaces.

The Council is ambitious with a number of on-going property projects alongside developing social programmes to benefit our residents.

The Town Clerk is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Council’s services and facilities and is head of paid staff, working with an established Management Team.

We need an enthusiastic individual who is also a team player with excellent leadership and communication skills. You will either hold, or be willing to obtain, the Certificate in Local Council Administration, as well as other relevant management qualifications.

Attendance at evening meetings and weekend events will be required, for which time off in lieu will be granted. The post has access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
