POSITION SUMMARY
To provide a comprehensive tooling support service to the Sheffield site for all tool making issues and solutions. It includes fault rectification, equipment servicing, and engagement with suppliers, implementing improvement ideas and driving KPI-s to ensure maximum equipment availability for operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Safely operate site specific equipment and actively drive adherence to the company Health and Safety requirements.
· Perform a comprehensive range of routine and reactive, maintenance on tooling and fixtures across a broad range of manufacturing assets covering manufacturing of jigs, fixtures, and gauging.
· Sourcing and liaise with tooling sub-contractors and material suppliers
· Support maintenance in the manufacture of one off / specialised components
· Evaluate and extrapolate from customer drawings, information for gauge design
· Accountability for Wax Injection die manufacture and repair
· Liaise and organise with Sub contractors on new part tooling and gauging
· Ensure that manufacturing equipment is safe, available, and capable for use when required.
· Complete and maintain documentation and records.
· Problem solving, making sound recommendations based on judgement, training, and previous experience. Recommend and implement improvements.
· Work with the Manufacturing Engineers to help understand and implement tooling requirements.
· Liaise with the onsite spares integrator to ensure spares inventory reflects operational demands with minimal inventory.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
· Wax Injection die tool making (design, manufacture, repair, knowledge of injection machines)
· Tool making (gauges, jigs and fixtures, 3 axis milling, turning, grinding, bench fitting)

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
· At least 5+ years related experience
· Completed advanced level engineering apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
· Safety qualificator is desirable
· Experience in Lean Manufacturing and standard work routines including 5S, Gemba, Six Sigma, Kan Ban, Poke Yoke, Single Minute exchange of dies etc.
· Medical device or aerospace experience preferred.
· Machine/fabrication/manufacturing background desirable.
· Working knowledge of ISO 14001 ISO 9002 & AS 9100 preferred
· Understanding and ability to use gauges, inspection equipment and computerized measuring equipment.
· Ability to read engineering drawings and manufacture components based on them.
· Experience in operating manual and CNC machine tools to a high degree in order to manufacture components to Engineering drawings.
· Experience in programming CNC machine tools preferable.
· Ability to reverse-engineer and manufacture components where drawings aren’t available.
· Basic IT literacy
· Ability to use CAD/CAM PLM software to design parts and create technical drawings is preferable but not essential.

Pay: £37,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
