ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Technical Manager – Attributes Management to join the business on a permanent basis at our Crewe Campus (with hybrid working). Reporting to the Functional Manager – Attributes and Weight Management, the role is varied and interfaces with a wide range of stakeholders across the business, undertaking all aspects and stages of Attributes Management. The Technical Manager – Attributes Management will strengthen the technical and process leadership aspects to accelerate the shift towards Attribute led Requirements Management to deliver competitive products in collaboration with Requirements and Architecture Managers and platform partners. This is a highly product focussed role allowing the successful candidate to have a significant impact on Bentley’s extraordinary future product portfolio.

The Attributes Team are responsible for leading the Attribute Management processes to ensure the business delivers competitive vehicles at Start of Production and beyond. Their mission is to connect the customer, through marketing needs, to Engineering requirements, targets and specifications to deliver extraordinary products.

The team succeeds by combining expert knowledge with strong influential relationships across a broad range of stakeholders internally and externally. The function offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic role that combines technical expertise, business and customer requirements.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide technical guidance and develop processes and tools to enable Attribute led Requirements Management and manage increasingly complex Attribute interdependencies
  • Support R&D involvement in competitor set definition
  • Work with the wider Attributes and Energy Management department to develop technology and competitor benchmarking road maps
  • Manage attribute events (static/dynamic) and carry out attribute evaluations
  • Collate, manage and report attribute status against targets

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate will have experience of whole vehicle evaluation and reporting of attribute status gained from an automotive environment. You will have good communication/presentation skills that can be applied cross functionally to influence decisions. Additionally, you will be a good team player that can prioritise to deliver a range of complex tasks/projects simultaneously. Experience of data processing, analytics and visualisation skills/programs (Power Bi/Tableau etc) would be advantageous.

You will demonstrate:
  • Experience of attribute and requirement led vehicle development, technical standards and procedures
  • Demonstrable examples of process improvement and implementation
  • Ability to process large amounts of data related to multiple model lines and multiple attributes
  • Strong complete car vehicle evaluation skills (including dynamic attributes, design, UI/UX, everyday life suitability, etc)
  • Deep understanding of market/industry trends and technology development
