An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for a permanent post based in the department of Cellular Pathology at the Leicester Royal Infirmary which will provide support to the senior mortuary management team. We need an enthusiastic and committed individual to join us in providing a quality driven, patient focused service.
We are looking for a team player who can contribute effectively and provide a wide variety of clerical and administrative support to the Mortuary and Deputy Service Manager with a particular emphasis on the management and administration of archival tissue samples. We can offer an exciting and varied role and duties will range from taking minutes and basic administration to archival management, audit and individual case management.
The successful candidate will have a good basic education to A Level standard or equivalent and will be fully computer literate. They will have evidence of the ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines. They will have excellent communication skills with an empathetic and sensitive approach to the requirements of this particular role and area of the hospital.
You will be expected to work flexibly as part of the team and become an integral member of staff within the department.

About the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust: (leicestershospitals.nhs.uk)
- To participate in the provision of a comprehensive, high quality mortuary service ensuring the timely delivery of care to neonate, infant, child and adult patients.
- To perform various administrative and archiving duties in relation to tissue samples retained at post mortem.
- To be the departments primary contact for all enquiries relating to retained tissue samples and will be responsible for day-to-day co-ordination of a dedicated mailbox for this purpose.
- To undertake other administrative duties related to the management of the mortuary service and required by local and national legal guidelines
