Job description
We are looking for TIG Welders to join both our Early and Late Shifts on a full time, permanent basis. To be successful in this role you will be a confident TIG Welder with extensive experience in a manufacturing environment alongside having a selection of fabrication techniques.
Any additional experience of MIG welding and working with pressure vessels would be advantageous, as would Dye Penetrant, CSWIP or PCN2 qualifications.
Please note we operate two shifts:
Early shift -
- 05:45 to 13:45 Mon - Thurs,
- 05:55 to 13:00 Fri.
Late shift -
- 14:15 to 22:25 Mon - Thurs,
- 13:00 to 19:00 Fri.
Looking for candidates to mainly do the late shift but adjustments can be considered.
Salary - £25,000 - £35,000 (with the potential for progression in line with in-house experience and skills training).
- Times and a half for overtime pay
- + 14 % bonus pay for evening / night shifts
- 2 x bonus yearly
Responsibilities
As a Welder, you will be responsible for:
- Predominantly TIG welding – gaining and maintaining the required welding codes
- Understanding information prescribed within Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Carrying out all tasks to safety, quality, and efficiency standards
- Non welding activities e.g. forming, grinding, operating overhead cranes
- MIG & TIG welding of mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium typically from 1mm up to 20mm thick
- Checking that finished products comply with specifications
- Reading, production, and organisation of technical drawings
- General engineering machinery operation i.e saws, ironworkers, press brake, tube benders and drills

- In cutting – fabricating
- Welding using TIG and MIG – with a metal finish to the highest standard
- Understanding 2D and 3D diagrams
- Calculate exact dimensions
- Attention to detail - the ability to cut with precision
- The ability to meet deadlines
- Basic computer office software skills
- Mechanical skills
- Project manager skills
- Design skills
Experience
- Hand tools
- Working with Grinders and Metal finishers
- The knowledge and ability to select the most appropriate tools for each situation
- Being able to set up machine tools and dismantle them after the job is complete
- Needs 6G pipe work welding experience
Qualifications
- Dye Penetrant, CSWIP or PCN2 qualifications
