Job description

Threat Intelligence Analyst
Northampton

As a Barclays Threat Intelligence Analyst you will be responsible for synthesising information from vendors, external partners, open-source reporting, and peer financial institutions and organic information in a timely manner to analyse and identify the top threats to the bank, our supply chain, customers, and clients. You will enable improved resource prioritisation and proactive remediation of controls gaps enhancing security in line with our effective, intelligence-led defence strategy.

Barclays is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions, with 329 years of success, quality and innovation behind us. We offer careers that provide endless opportunity – helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive, and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

What will you be doing?
• Analysing datasets from internal and external sources to provide timely and relevant threat intelligence for customers in and outside the Chief Security Office
  • Providing ad supporting comprehensive reports to Barclays Senior Leaders, Chief Information Security Officers and Risk and Compliance teams
  • Championing a collaborative environment ensuring cross team analysis that provides a holistic intelligence picture
  • Delivering threat intelligence, maintaining the best practices of the intelligence process
  • Validating the credibility and reliability of sources and the information they provide from multiple datasets and vendors
  • Monitoring existing threats and identifying new and emerging threats that could impact the bank, its customers and supply chain
  • Mitigating threats by identifying themes and tactics, techniques and procedures used by threat actors
  • Working flexibly, dynamically prioritising stakeholders’ requirements, fulfilling their needs and managing their expections

What we’re looking for:
• Experience and understanding of Cybersecurity, Insider Threat, Fraud, Geopolitics, Physical Security, Supply Chain Threats, and/or Emerging Technologies
  • Significant Experience and understanding in data analytics, including the ability to maintain large data sets with a high degree of accuracy, and identify patterns and trends
  • Excellent Experience and understanding of stakeholder management or customer management
  • Profecient Experience in presenting complex material in a way that is targeted to the audience

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience and understanding in applied statistical analysis and/or descriptive and predictive analytics
  • Significant Experience and working understanding in a regulated financial environment
  • Excellent Experience and working understanding in an international environment with stakeholders across multiple time zones
  • Degree or professional certification in intelligence, security studies, cybersecurity, or a related field – or equivalent professional experience

Where will you be working?
Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997. This state-of-the art energy efficient building holds up to 2,500 staff. The office location is perfect for travel from the midlands and London alike as we are based just off the A45, it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
