Job description
We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Therapist to join our dynamic team at Priory Hospital Nottingham. You will join our well-established, dedicated and well-integrated multi-disciplinary team in providing high quality therapy services.
Who are Priory Hospital Nottingham?
We are a 14 bedded unit which provides inpatient treatment for NHS patients with acute mental health issues. We have recently been awarded 'Outstanding' in our last CQC Inspection and have also recently achieved the AIMS award.
We aim to provide assessments and therapy on a group and individual basis for patients presenting with a range of acute mental health problems such as schizophrenia, depression and E.U.P.D.
The support we offer is occupational-therapy based and we provide a variety of therapeutic interventions including:
- Mindfulness informed therapy
- Activities of daily living
- Cooking activities
- Art therapy
All treatment that takes place is personalised to each individual’s needs and includes and focuses on aspects of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT).
We offer open-group therapy sessions which provide acute mental health patients the chance to attend where schedules allow. These groups tend to be based on specific areas such as anxiety and CBT skills and focus is both educational and therapeutic.
Art therapy is an important part of treatment as it provides a creative way of supporting recovery and may be particularly useful for patients who are unable to, or do not wish to, engage in a group or individual verbal therapy. As such, this is not a class but a space where individuals are free to explore without being judged.
The hospital is conveniently located near the centre of Nottingham, ensuring easy access by train, bus or car.
A tour of the site and a chance to meet the team can always be accommodated following the interview, if required.
