An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly Theatre Team at Sheffield Childrens Hospital.
To help maintain a high standard of care by providing a clean, safe and suitable environment within the theatre department. The role will provide support in a non clinical way to those who provide direct patient care. The successful candidate will provide a high standard of cleanliness throughout, report any deficiencies and take appropriate action where needed.
The post holder will need to have a excellent attention to detail to help maintain high standards by providing a safe and clean environment for patient care. The successful candidate will work alongside a multidisciplinary team therefore good communication and team work is key.
The Theatre Team is the largest team in the hospital made up of Anaesthetic practitioners, Scrub Practitioners, Support Workers, Theatre Escorts, Theatre Store Keepers and a Theatre admin team. The post holder would report to a registered Theatre practitioner.
Sheffield Children’s is one of three independent, specialist paediatric hospitals in the country, providing dedicated healthcare for children and young people across community, mental health and acute specialist settings.

- Provide a high standard of cleanliness throughout the theatre department
- Ensure theatre staff have constant access to laundry to deliver correct patient care.
- Maintain regimented cleaning schedules throughout the theatre department.
- Ensure all items of cleaning equipment are stored appropriately within the department and away from clinical activity.
- Ensure storage within the operating theatre or anaesthetic rooms are clean, including trollies and draws making them a suitable place for storing equipment.
- Keep staffing areas clean and maintained.
