Job description

Exmouth Pavilion is situated directly on the seafront and presents a varied programme of concerts, events and live entertainment including an annual spectacular pantomime.

We are looking for someone passionate about entertainment to help us deliver our fantastic shows and customer experience.


As our technician, some of your responsibilities will be to:


  • Work on events, shows and functions covering a variety of technical sound and lighting roles that each event may require, under the direction of the Senior Technician, including liaising with visiting companies regarding technical requirements and riders.
  • Ensure all current and relevant health and safety regulations are adhered to and copies of relevant risk assessments and insurance documents are received by us and filed appropriately.
  • Deal with any technical issues as they occur, and report any problems to the Senior Technician and/or Duty Manager if they cannot be resolved.
  • Ensure high levels of customer service, quality control and security are maintained at all times.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels of all consumable technical items through effective ordering and delivery supervision on an ongoing basis.
  • Assist with front of house duties; taking bookings, general enquiries, cash control, bar and box office when required.


We are serious about health and safety as you'll contribute with responsibilities such as:


  • Maintaining the stage and public areas in a clean, tidy and safe condition, in accordance with prescribed standards and report any damage or wear of furnishings, fittings or equipment to the management team immediately.
  • Ensuring compliance with all health and safety practices and procedures including COSHH, First Aid, hazard reporting and requirements of wearing PPE.
  • Working in a safe manner, with a view to the safety of yourself, colleagues

and customers.

  • Being fully familiar with and adhere to all company policies and procedures in respect of fire prevention, firefighting and fire evacuation plans and to use fire and emergency equipment only for the purpose prescribed.
  • Exhibiting due diligence regarding the security of employees and customers, reporting anything suspicious to the management team.
  • Ensuring the correct use and care of all plant, light equipment, utensils, lifting equipment, fixtures and effects, reporting anything hazardous or defective using prescribed procedures.
