Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult is recruiting a TEST TECHNICIAN - ELECTRO MECHANICAL for the site in Blyth to ensure test programs are delivered to customer expectations and that we are continuously improving the work processes and environment.
The role will be an integral member of the team and will help to ensure the accurate setup of test pieces to the required standards and procedures of the site.
What will I do?
- Setup test pieces and test rigs, including supporting equipment and systems within the facilities, to the required standard
- Install, test and commission power and control systems as part of a test setup
- Install sensors and instrumentation to test pieces and facilities
- Carry out fault finding on electrical systems such as PLCs, Data Acquisition Systems and power networks
- Ensure SHEQ management tasks and documentation are completed correctly and fully and are relevant to the task (e.g. Risk Assessment, work procedures, COSHH Assessments)
- Contribute to and implement continuous improvement plans and solutions
- Be part of a team that carries out operation and fault-finding of mechanical systems, including cooling, lubrication, pneumatics and hydraulics
- Actively support 5S in the workplace
What are we looking for?
- Time-served Electrical Technician with HNC or equivalent experience
- Good experience of industrial electrical installation
- Good understanding of electrical principles and ability to carry out electrical testing and fault-finding
- Good experience of a range of electrical sensors and instrumentation
- Experience of PLC systems
- Experience of mechanical systems and principles
- Experience of working with heavy machinery and plant in an industrial environment
- Work at Height certificate or willingness to take qualification
- Certified to operate MEWPs and other plant
- Able to interpret technical drawings and diagrams
- Experience of producing and working to risk assessments and method statements and Permit to Work systems.
