As a Test Engineer, you will work within an agile Digital Engineering team to ensure that the code is rigorously tested and ready for production, while also guiding and supporting less experienced Test Engineers.
You will have the opportunity to help shape our services and recommend tools required to implement the strategy, collaborating with Senior Test Engineers.
What you need to do
- Independently create automated test suites following the Test Automation Strategy
- Create and maintain the automation framework
- Contribute to the development and evolution of the test automation strategy
- Develop and maintain test script inventories using design patterns and architecture
- Create test plans for automated testing
- Create required data for test cases
- Maintain an understanding of software architecture within SBAFS
- Use data to provide accurate estimates and manage resource supply and demand
- Participate in peer reviews / code reviews / retrospectives
- Communicate effectively with colleagues
- Coach and mentor less experienced colleagues
As part of the wider testing function the role holder will also need to support
- Test oversight
- Environment management
- Test data management
- Release management
What you need to know and show
- Experience of mobile test automation (Swift/Kotlin apps)
- Agile & Waterfall experience (in a Hybrid environment)
- Webdriver.io and Appium or similar toolset (we use JavaScript/typescript)
- CucumberJS & or Newman Postman (would be beneficial)
- Experience of working on API’s, Web or Mobile projects
- A passion for ensuring quality in the apps you test
