What you'll do

This will be a hybrid role working between home and a nearby hub location


When it comes to IT, Toolstation is unique. All software that runs the company is developed and maintained in-house. Using open-source technologies, everything from our consumer website, our shop tills, to our warehouse stock control has been created from the ground up. As a Tester, you’ll be working within Agile development teams, you will play a key role in testing and maintaining Toolstation’s core business systems.


As a Test Analyst, you’ll be working closely with Product Owners, UX/UI Designers and Developers to create and deliver testing plans for multiple products and systems across our Ecommerce platforms. Working as part of our QA test team, you'll perform a variety of manual and automated testing including but not limited to functional, system integration and regression testing across multiple platforms.


Day-to-day


Testing. You'll develop and implement the use of appropriate testing tools, test techniques and test automation. You'll write test plans and scripts based on projects/new features requirements for multiple products across our Ecommerce Platforms


Monitoring. As well as maintaining documentation of the QA process, you will monitor QA activities, test results, leaked defects, root cause analysis and identify areas of improvement.


Communicating & collaborating. You’ll be working closely with the rest of the team to communicate and feedback progress to project management teams, Product Owners, Developers and other stakeholders as well as working as a group to share knowledge.

What you'll bring

Technical Expertise. You’ll have knowledge and experience of testing, utilising tools such as Test Rail and other similar systems. You'll have experience with automated testing and know how construct and write test scripts and plans.


Analytical. You’ve got a logical, creative yet systematic approach to problems and you have the ability to demonstrate, sound understanding of projects from the perspective of both the user and the business.


Project Management. You will be comfortable with project management tools and be well used to working with Agile processes.


Change/Continuous Improvement. You’ll be inquisitive and not afraid to challenge the status quo. You’ll understand the business and how the impacts of change will be felt across the business and will be comfortable being creative to solve the issues.


Detail Orientated. You’ll be accurate and diligent as you pursue quality in all that you accomplish.


Adaptability. You will remain positive and resilient under pressure and can adapt to change.
