Our client is looking to recruit temporary support workers to cover holidays, sickness and staff shortages. Working within a large detached property with 22 rooms, you will be supporting adults ranging in age from their late 20’s to their 80’s. You will be working with residents to help them enjoy an independent and fulfilling life.
You will assist service users to live their best lives by assisting them to exercise choice in order to: improve their mental health and wellbeing, reduce loneliness; increase social participation; work towards goals; develop their independence. Working with services users in accordance with regulations laid down by the Care Quality Commission and the Care Act.
The social care team provides 24 hour care with at least three members of staff on duty during the day meaning that you will always have support around you.
This home is situated close to the main shopping area of Boscombe, with great local amenities and public transport links.
Summary of Duties:
- · Establish and maintain relationships of trust with service users, to build engagement
- · Help service users to set, prioritise and achieve personal goals, to increase hope, motivation and ambition
- · Work flexibly with service users
- · Value the lived experience of service users and enable them to use that experience to support each other and improve the service
- · Carry out assessments and determine urgency of service user needs
- · Work with professionals from other agencies and make onward referrals
- · Carry out risk assessments, in order to keep service users safe and improve the quality of support
- · Work with service users om a 1:1 basis and in teams
- · Assist service users to navigate the benefits and education systems
- · Assist service users to manage medication, including supporting people by prompting and/or administering medication
- · Assist service users to manage their lives by helping with bills, forms, mail and appointments, accompanying service users where necessary
- · Undertake and assist with domestic tasks such as cooking, cleaning, ensuring adherence to infection control
- · Assist with personal care as needed
- · Make timely records that are concise, accurate, written for the service user to understand
