Temporary dog walker and pet sitter Nottingham, England
Job description
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dog loving, active person to join a small but growing dog walking and sitting business on a temporary basis for 1 month holiday cover, but with the potential to stay on. The dates would be until 8th October (approximately), with the potential to stay on and take on new clients.
Please note this is a self employed position meaning you would be responsible for your own accounts, tax and national insurance contributions.
Job Description:
- You will be responsible for walking dogs both individually and in small groups, on and off lead.
- You will collect dogs where required and ensure their safety and well-being whilst in your care.
- Dog sitting overnight may also be required including all aspects of dog care associated with this e.g. feeding, walking and medication requirements.
Essential requirements:
- Have previous experience and be confident working with dogs of all shapes, sizes and temperaments
- Be a dog lover!
- Be flexible in working hours.
- Have a full driving licence and willing to use your car for work purposes.
- Be willing to walk outside in all weather conditions.
- Be able to think on your feet and respond quickly to unexpected incidents.
- Be confident at using social media.
- Be willing to complete a canine first aid certification.
- Have the ability to act professionally with customers.
Desirable requirements:
- Experience training dogs and working with problem dogs.
- Knowledge of canine first aid.
- Experience in business marketing.
- Ability to take a proactive approach to building clients.
