Telecoms Engineer (Digital Transformation Specialist)
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Salary: £24-30k DOE + Benefits + Vehicle
Shift: Monday-Friday 08:00-18:00 + (Weekend Overtime)
Location: Field Based/Remote (With occasional travel/accommodation to our Leeds Head Office)

About the Department/Team:
The Engineering team are responsible for delivering new installation, upgrades, site surveys, support and on-going maintenance to our clients. These range from full system installs (telephone and cabling), fault finding and programming of traditional and hosted (IP/VOPIP) telephone solutions and software. The team play a significant role in getting it Right First Time to meet the expectations of our clients, while providing a full end-end service experience when on-site face to face. You will be supported in your role by our in-house Projects team who organise your weekly diary and arrange for any relevant equipment and or hardware.
You will report directly to the Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities:
· Planning and co-ordinating the installation of telecoms equipment and infrastructure
· Maintain and troubleshoot system faults as required on site/remotely where possible
· To carry out, Installations, programming, and commissioning of hosted telephone solutions.
- Conduct site surveys
- Termination of and installation of Cat 5E/6
- To maintain a high degree of customer service for all call outs, installs and support.
- To take ownership and be proactive when dealing with site and specific user problems
- Support customers in the use of Lily Solutions by providing necessary training and advice
- Identify opportunities derived from escalated/common faults
About You:
We are looking for someone who loves being a remote field engineer, who can work on their own or with colleagues as part of the wider engineering team and have the following skills and experiences.
- You must be interest in broadband, telephony (IP/VOIP)
- You’ll be hard working and flexible to take on our planned and unplanned workload
- A current UK driving license
- ·You will be friendly, customer focussed and desire to resolve connectivity issues
- To work closely with Installation job co-coordinators to ensure accurate recording of all engineering activities and install details.
- To work closely with other engineers to continually pursue self-development through in house training and to also assist in the development and training of other engineers.
- Will be required to participate in out of hours call out rota where required. Shift allowance
Qualifications and Technical Skills:
- Possess a proven track record with an extensive knowledge – primarily involving field installation/maintenance of Horizon, LG- PBX/IP/hosted telephony systems or similar.
- Able to work towards and meet tight deadlines.
- Have a flexible approach to the working day.
- Understand moves and changes to PABX systems
- A knowledge of networking principals
- Experience of programming and diagnostics
- WIFI Design, Implementation & Support
- Door entry System’s LG, Paxton, Ulydor, 2N helios IP Vario beneficial
- Works with a high attention to detail
- Proven engineering experience within a telecoms engineering environment.
Having excellent time management and organisational skills is significantly important in this role as you will need to manage your workload effectively in a busy, fast paced environment.
