About the Role
This is an exciting role for someone looking to join a team who are building a large-scale fibre to the home business. Reporting to the regional head, the role will require you to manage and lead all maintenance operations within the region, with a primary focus on fixing, auditing and driving the right quality on the network. This includes proactively instructing engineers to routinely test and inspect each asset within the network as part of a preventive schedule, and to also react quickly when a client needs a maintenance visit. The role is 50% site based, 50% work from home based so you must be prepared to travel and be on site with your teams and people. The role needs a calm approach, someone who can multi-task and inspire, whilst also delivering strong business results.
About you
This is a great opportunity for someone with an interest in maintenance, fixing and repairing fibre networks within operations and who enjoys working in fast paced operational teams to deliver business and customer results. Ideally, you’ll have some experience working in a telco operation, and will be comfortable leading the regional maintenance programme for brsk.
The role requires a calm approach, with someone who can coach, lead and inspire your team to deliver large scale targets and business results
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To lead and grow the Maintenance team within the region
- Offer situational leadership
- Tailor a preventative maintenance schedule for each area within the region
- Ensure resource levels are maintained
- Work closely with brsk’s other departments to ensure operational excellence
- Build relationships with our Maintenance, Build and Installation sub-contractor partners and liaise daily when resolving faults
- Ensure maintenance teams react fast to real-time issues
- Lead new area sign-off process from Build partners to Maintenance
- Report weekly on team’s activities, performance and achievements
- Report directly to the Regional Head
- Provide support to Network Owner who works in field
- Create strategies and initiatives to improve the team
- Maintain good stock levels of consumables
- Make certain any sub-contractors are working in adherence to their agreement
- Identify issues within the network which are causing issues for a client and bringing the network back to its original state with minimal inconvenience.
- Carefully maintain data-bases and archives held in our app platform.

Experience Required:
- Experience managing a team in an operational environment
- Good understanding of telecommunications and fibre networks
- Previous experience working on Openreach’s network infrastructure
