ShareThe University of Bath is seeking for a Technology Transfer Manager (TTM).
About the role
You will be part of a small Technology Transfer team that works closely with academics to create impact for the University of Bath through commercialising intellectual property (IP) and research outcomes. This includes identifying research to be protected and provide advice on IP and commercialisation matters to researchers at the University of Bath.
The TTM will build internal and external networks to identify opportunities for commercialisation, protect IP, undertake market research and negotiate suitable license agreements or manage spin-out company formation.
This role is offered on a part time (14.6 hours per week) 0.4FTE, fixed term basis with an expected end date of 31/07/2023.
Skills & Experience Required
You will have a relevant degree and experience with commercialisation in a University or organisation and professional skills in building internal and external networks in relation to commercialisation of intellectual property.
With demonstrated success of managing multiple projects including planning, communication, implementation, evaluation and reporting you may also have experience in negotiating commercial and legal arrangements. You will also:
- Have the ability to prioritise
- Be able to efficiently manage multiple requests for information and assistance
- Have the ability to work under pressure of various deadlines
Experience in the patenting process and working with legal agreements would be advantageous.
