If you are interested in beginning your career in an exciting global manufacturing environment, now we are looking for a Technology and Innovation Scientist to join our small and friendly team in Spondon, Derby. The role covers a wide scope of activities making it challenging and varied.
Your key responsibilities will be:
Work within a small team to undertake the development of new products driven by specific customer, market or business requirements.- Manage and evaluate product development ideas and opportunities from conception through to plant production.
- Provide technical support to the production facility in a problem-solving capacity.
- Utilize analytical techniques such as infrared and UV-visible spectroscopy, GC microscopy, XRF, thermal analysis and surface analysis techniques.
- Compile and present report based on project findings to communicate results.
A successful candidate must have:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or related field.- Practical laboratory experience, with a grasp of modern analytical techniques to include infrared and UV-visible spectroscopy, GC microscopy, XRF, thermal analysis and surface analysis techniques.
- Good interpersonal skills, able to form productive relationships across technical and manufacturing functions.
