Why Constellation Automotive Group’s Technology team?

The Constellation Technology Team provides a group-wide set of Technology Products and Services across the Constellation Automotive Group. This includes the following divisions BCA UK, We Buy Any Car, cinch, Elmo, CarNext Europe and Marshall.

Our roles support both a cross section of divisions or could be dedicated to a single division. This provides a unique opportunity to experience a diversity of teams, technology and businesses across C2B, B2B and B2C. This also provides the possibility to change roles within the Group, and experience new challenges and opportunities.

What’s in it for me?

We recognise that there isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ for tech graduates, as what you specialise in will likely influence your future career path. Due to the scale of our Group, we are able to offer two different journeys for our grads in Constellation Technology.

For those grads who have strong technical skills, you would expect to go down our engineering or ‘tech route’. Areas include software engineering, information security, enterprise applications and Architecture.

For those grads who have more generalist IT skills, you would expect go down our ‘non tech route’. This would give you exposure into areas including tech ops, portfolio and project management.

After an initial induction, you will get the opportunity to go on rotation across the Group, in businesses including cinch, webuyanycar, elmo, Marshall and BCA UK.

Our technology scheme consists of 6 -month placements that span across multiple businesses in the Group. This allows you to really understand our business but also what you feel fits for you before you roll off the scheme into your chosen specialism. Opportunities include Software Engineer, Information Security analyst and Project Manager.

A mentor and a buddy will be provided to support you and make sure you get the most out of each rotation. We do expect you to make the most of these placements and maximise your experience. You will be part of a larger cohort of graduates in other business areas and this community provides a great source of insight and experience you can draw on.

Skills you’ll learn

  • Soft skills will include emotional intelligence, communication and interpersonal skills, self-awareness and presentation skills
  • Project management skills and improving efficiencies including working collaboratively during placements
  • Area specific skills, for example software engineering, information security and enterprise applications

How will I be assessed?

Once you apply online, we will review your CV and experience. If it feels like a good fit, you will be invited to a video interview to answer some questions about you and why you have applied for this scheme – it’s an opportunity for us to get to know you better and find out what you know about us.

Candidates who are shortlisted after the video interview will have a telephone interview, and then they will be invited to come along to an Assessment Centre in Hook. This is an opportunity to meet some of the team, including old and current graduates. It will also give you a good insight into life at Constellation Automotive Group.

What qualifications and skill set do I need?

  • 2:1 degree or above in either technology, computer science or engineering, or predicted if graduating in 2023
  • Right to work in the UK, we are unable to sponsor on a skilled worker visa for this role
  • You will need to be driven, proactive in your approach and confident to collaborate
  • A confident communicator, both written and oral, who builds relationships with stakeholders and can influence others
