Job description
We are seeking an experienced research technician to support a Cancer Research UK-funded programme focused on earlier detection of pancreatic cancer (UK-EDI). The project will involve the evaluation of candidate biomarkers of pancreatic cancer-related diabetes as well as mechanisms underpinning this form of diabetes. You will join the Pancreas Cancer Research Group and will have several responsibilities, including the maintanence of cell lines, undertaking in vitro experiments, and providing research support to other studies within the group where appropriate.
You should be educated to BTEC Higher level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area and experience working in a bioscience laboratory. You will be proficient in a range of molecular cell biology techniques, and ideally have an understanding of cancer biology. You will have good attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, be able to multi-task, the ability to undertake analysis of data, work independently and as part of a research team, and be computer literate. The post is available until 31 March 2024 inclusive.
